Task 3 – Collaborative workshop

This post will include collaborative work carried out by my colleague, Ivana and myself. We will be responding to the brief “How can graphic design highlight the benefits of the outdoors and fresh air, and encourage positive societal change in an age influenced by digital technology?”

We first had to choose a target audience for this project, whilst I leant towards an older audience of 50+, Ivana immediately had inspiration and ideas for focusing on 14-29. We made the choice for this lower target audience and started to research and find information which was included on a Figma board, screenshots of this can be seen below.

Screenshot of shared initial thoughts on the brief.
Screenshots of articles I found that give data and figures on how screen time and how spending time outdoors effects peoples mental health.
Screenshot of my mood board with current designs on the subject that I felt matched the target audience (Pinterest, 2026) and thoughts this provoked.
Screenshot of colour, typography and style that felt suitable for the target audience (Pinterest, 2026).

Here are a few quick (made in 5 minutes each) posters I have created based on the brief:

A design I created answering the brief.
A design Ivana created answering the brief.
A combination created of the two posters.
A second combination of the two posters.
A third combination of the two posters.

Working on this project was interesting due to the difference in myself and Ivana’s design style. When comparing the two posters we discussed which assets could be combined to create a final design that represented both our styles and met the requirements for the problem and the target audience.

If working on a project like this again, I would ensure more face to face meetings took place, so that as a team we could work on sketches and plan a more collaborative approach to the task.
