Post 3 – Wireframe Prototyping

This post will show the starting phase of developing a home page for InfluentHull. It is important that user needs are considered when creating a user interface (UI). The homepage should allow the user to carry out the functions they require. InfluentHull’s website should be easily navigable to encourage the user to stay on the website and proceed with using InfluentHull for their consultancy needs.

Whilst this is a company targeted towards creatives; Jakob’s Law (Laws of UX, 2025) makes the point that users prefer for websites to work in a similar way to other sites that they are used to. This means that having a quirky UI is not the best way to stand out creatively. Having interesting, interactive elements will be more efficient.

Initial Sketch

An initial sketch for a desktop home page.

This initial sketch demonstrates the features that will be included later in the desktop home page wire framing stage. The main features are as follows:

  • The menu bar across the top with well thought out menu options.
  • Clear space to ensure the user isn’t overwhelmed with information.
  • The main image to be enveloped by the InfluentHull’s sun shape.
  • An accessibility call to action that allows the user to adjust font size, colour contrast and sound levels.
  • An arrow that prompts the user to scroll down.
  • A line of text that is slowly continuously scrolling with a short client testimonial, the wave of the line again connecting with the sun shape, with an option to pause (please see example/inspiration below).

Low Fidelity Prototypes

This style is a recreation of the initial sketches and will further establish InfluentHull’s brand identity by making use of their design shapes and clear messaging.

This wire frame will have images of creative businesses that InfluentHull have helped, with an overlay of statistics that back up their qualifications.

Final Home Page Prototype

Final prototype created using Figma.

The InfluentHull logo, colours and typography have been included within this prototype.

This hero section for this home page is a slideshow of statistics that will give users a clear indication of what they will gain from working with InfluentHull. Along with this a scrolling text wave has a client testimonial that will again entice users to take on InfluentHull as their consultants.

The page selected is indicated in the menu at the top which will improve the users experience as it will allow them to navigate easily through the website.

Moving forward, user feedback would be obtained on the usability of the design and would be integrated within the next phase.
