Task 3: Animated Advert

The task that will be discussed within this post was to create an advert for a mobile phone that includes animated text and an animated button.

Relevant Tone and Style

Like with the other tasks, to ensure the tone and style of this advert was relevant to both the brand identity for Pizza Place and the target audience I followed the brand guidelines I created.

I incorporated illustrations and imagery that I have used throughout this project to ensure a clear cohesive style was carried out.

Effective Information Delivery

The purpose of the animation is to promote the opening night event of the Pizza Place, and the aim is to encourage people to book a table.

A short and snappy phone advertisement can catch the attention of a target audience, but it entices them quickly. According to Laja (2019) “It takes about 50 milliseconds (ms) (that’s 0.05 seconds) for users to form an opinion about your website”. Meaning it is important to have an opening message/image that draws a consumer in.

What I’ve Learned

I struggled with this task, due to lack of time and knowledge of what I was meant to be creating. I was aiming to have a smooth, fluent animation that clearly communicated the message, and I am unhappy with the outcome as this was not achieved. I found it difficult to edit the timeline and keyframes. I also had issues with turning layers to symbols.

I tried to incorporate the skills that I had learned from the previous two tasks but found it difficult for this exercise. If I were to repeat this task, I would ensure I provided myself with more time and a clearer plan for the structure.
